Hand-applied lime plaster surface

Detail resolution as a design tool rather than a documentation stage.

[Article body. This page is the template for every Journal entry — hero image, standfirst, body copy, pull quote, supporting images, and a closing link back to the index.]

Paint sits on a wall. Lime plaster becomes one. It carries the trowel marks of whoever applied it, holds light differently at different hours, and takes on a depth that a flat coating never develops.

What it asks of you

It is slower. It costs more. It needs a mason who has done it before, and it will not look identical from one wall to the next — which is the point, and also the conversation to have with a client before the first coat goes on rather than after.
